Position Overview and Responsibilities
The apprentice will receive comprehensive training and gain practical experience in the following key areas:
- Frame Straightening Operations: Utilize advanced frame-straightening systems, including hydraulic presses, frame machines, and laser measurement tools, to accurately diagnose and correct structural deviations in vehicles.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication and Repair: Perform structural repairs, rust remediation, panel replacement, and custom fabrication to support high-quality vehicle restoration projects.
- Welding and Component Repair: Execute MIG and TIG welding techniques to replace or repair panels and structural components with precision and structural integrity.
Training will encompass, but is not limited to, operation of frame-straightening equipment and proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes. Apprentices will work directly alongside experienced technicians, progressing through guided instruction and real-world application.
Preferred Skills and Background
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Technical foundation through vocational school courses, pre-apprenticeship programs, or relevant hobbyist experience with welding tools and equipment.
- A strong interest in metalwork and metal fabrication.
Note on Tools: Apprentices will be expected to provide their own basic hand tools. A list of recommended tools will be provided upon selection.
This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals passionate about classic car restoration, performance vehicle modifications, and precision craftsmanship. Prior professional experience is not required—enthusiasm, reliability, and a commitment to learning are essential.
